Biturbo engines arrive

Since we already imagined by the comments and the many spy photos we had seen so far, now both the Porsche 911 Carrera and Carrera S feature biturbo engines.

The Carrera now develops 370 horsepower and 420 Carrera S horses. In both cases they increase 20 horses about their ancestors, and what is most prominent is that in both cases the motor is a three-liter boxer architecture.

In the case of the Carrera S power it is achieved because it takes a modified turbo compressors with a dedicated exhaust system and a new engine management.

In addition to those 20 horsepower, both engines increased 60 Nm of torque than their predecessors, delivering 450 Nm in the 500 Carrera and the Carrera S. Nm

It is striking that the maximum torque is available between 1,700 and 5,000 RPM, but what really stands out is the engine turns up to 7500 RPM.

More efficient and best performing

If we go to the section on performance, the Carrera equipped with PDK and Sport Chrono Package, improves the 0-100 km / h in 0.2 seconds stopping the clock in 4.2 seconds.

Same configuration with the Carrera S, and also cut 0.2 seconds, stopping the clock in 3.9 seconds. It is the first time a low Carrera in the 0-100 km / h in four seconds.

Career reaches 295 km / h (6 km / h more than the previous), while the 911 Carrera S reaches 308 km / h (4 km / h more than before).

Heritage Porsche 918 Spyder, the mode switch on the steering wheel

As we advanced when Porsche showed the images of this new generation of the 911, the new model adopts a new inherited Porsche 918 Spyder.
